The Plan
Forever War is a student film by Shana Figueroa, a graduate student at Emerson College, Boston. The movie will fulfill the thesis requirement for an MFA degree in film.
(…yes Shana is the one writing this. Referring to myself in the third person is how you know I’m a professional.)
The film will be shot in and around the Boston, MA area in mid-October 2023! It’ll combine the visceral scares of zombie attacks with the existential dread of being trapped in a hopeless situation. We’re using practical effects for the majority of SFX – they’ll be very wet!
Right now, we’re putting together a team of local talent that will include industry professionals, aspiring newcomers, and students learning their craft. Since this is a student film, it’s exempt from the writer’s guild and actor’s guild strikes and can therefore employ union members.
After filming in October, Forever War will have its world premiere at the Emerson MFA thesis screening in early May 2024, followed by a (hopefully successful) film festival run.
